As it ages, the nose becomes denser and more complex, balanced with always a nice freshness on the palate due to the minerality.
- 100% Chardonnay (45 years old vines)
- Vinification is carried out in oak barrels (15% new)
- Aged in oak barrels for 10 to 12 months
STORY BEHIND THE WINE
Nestled within the charming village of Vergisson, at the very core of the expansive natural wonder that is Deux Roches, you'll find the Guerrin et Fils estate, encompassing an impressive 14 hectares. This family-run vineyard has recently welcomed the son, representing the fourth generation of dedicated winegrowers, all driven by their unwavering passion for winemaking. With more than 35 distinct plots, this vineyard is a tapestry of soils, delivering an extraordinary range of terroirs. While some of these terroirs are meticulously plowed, others are carefully tended by hand, reflecting the commitment and precision that goes into the craft, often yielding delightful surprises.
"Les Crays" terroir - 0.40 Hectare, is composed of limestone scree on marl from the Pliensbachian period, and is composed of shallow soil formed by rock scree on the surface and blue marl at depth. This steeply sloping hillside facing south, sheltered from the north wind, produces real wines of character. These are expressed by great finesse, endowed with a beautiful tension.
