Domaine Latour-Giraud, Meursault "Cuvée Charles Maxime", 2023

Vibrant, Succulent and Deep Meursault Village

"A glowing primrose yellow. Succulent with a little additional wood. Ripe limes, fresh plums, ripe apples, quite a mix of fruit descriptors. This is a Meursault of both depth and breadth, too vibrant to be old style but with the bottom that those searching after butter and hazelnuts would like."
-Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy
  • Aged in French oak for 15 months ( 30% new)
  • Jasper Morris-Inside Burgundy 89-92/100 Pts
  • Jancis Robinson 16.5/20 Pts
Cellaring:  Drink now to 2034
Food Pairing: The wine pairs perfectly with pan-seared halibut or sole meunière served with a butter or cream-based sauce. Delicious with lobster, scallops, creamy risotto or a Poulet à la Crème. For cheese, focus on complementing its richness with creamy, nutty varieties like Comté, Gruyère, or Delice de Bourgogne. | 🌡️ Serve slightly chilled, around 12 °C

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Based in the village of Meursault in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, the family-run Domaine Latour-Giraud covers about ten hectares and specialises in white wines from premier-cru sites such as "Genevrières", "Charmes" and "Perrières". Under the guidance of Jean‑Pierre Latour, sustainable viticulture and low yields produce expressive Chardonnay-based wines of fine depth, energy and terroir.
