2019 L. Benard-Pitois Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Brut
A Silky and Full-Bodied Pure Chardonnay Now at its Peak
Notes of stewed fruits, jam, and fruits preserved in brandy. Upon aeration, subtle hints of wood emerge, along with a blend of vanilla and caramel. The initial impression perfectly mirrors the aromas from the nose. The well-integrated oak enhances the aromatic richness. Flavors of pastries and apple tart are highlighted by accents of orange peel and lemon zest.
Food Pairing: Aperitif, sushi, oysters and gently flavoured white fish.
STORY BEHIND THE WINE
Ideally located near the town of Epernay, this is an estate right in the heart of all things Champagne. With 9.5h of vineyards classified as either Grand Cru or Premier Cru, these are noteworthy producers and we are proud to stock a range of their bottlings in the shop. Winemakers Michelle and Laurent Bénard-Louis continue to make a name for this House with a hands-on approach philosophy and meticulous attention to detail. Each plot is vinified separately using small vats as well as light oak-ageing in small barrels. These are terroir-focused producers and when your terroir is Champagne then who are we to argue.
