Voluptuous & Spicy Côtes du Rhône
"Grande Reserve" presents a complex bouquet of red fruits, notably blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by subtle notes of violets and spices. On the palate, it is round and well-balanced, with a pleasing intensity and supple tannins. The flavours linger beautifully, leading to a finish with very good aromatic persistence.
- Blend of 30% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 23% Mourvèdre, 8% Marselan, 4% Carignan
- Age of the vines: 30-50 years old
STORY BEHIND THE WINE
Today, Château Beauchêne is led by Michel and his wife Dominique, who took over in 1971. They are now joined by their daughters, Amandine and Estelle, who represent the 11th generation to carry on this rich tradition.
Located north of Orange, the plots are set against a hill of "Coniacian" limestones dating from the secondary era (65 million years old). Complete de-stemming of the bunches and fermentation maceration for 15 days.
