Château Peyrabon, 2020

Very Fine Haut-Medoc with Great Ageing Potential - Cru Bourgeois Superieur

Château Peyrabon 2020 is a wine with a lovely freshness marked by red and black cherries, mulberries, and pencil lead, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. A perfect balance is complemented by a woody touch, soft tannins and a great finesse which carries into the finish.

  • Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), Merlot(38%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (3%).
  • Aged14 months in oak barrels (25% in new wood), with fining in vats afterwards.
  • Decanter 87-87/100
  • James Suckling 90/100

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

For this 2020 vintage, the harvests at Château Peyrabon were carried out manually and mechanically. The harvests began on 17 September for the Merlot and ended on 6 October with the Cabernet Franc and the Cabernet Sauvignon
The grapes transferred by vibranting trailer are subject to destemming and optical sorting. Plot-by-plot vinification is carried out in concrete and thermoregulated stainless steel vats, accompanied by pour-overs, punch-downs and rack and return to encourage a smooth extraction. The pressed juices are separated then selected after tasting. The funnelling is partly carried out in drained barrels. Ageing lasts for 14 months in barrels (25% in new wood), with fining in vats afterwards.
